June 5 World Ernvironmental day
Today, June 5, is World Environment Day. Every year we say "Save the Earth." But in reality, the Earth doesn't need us. We are the ones who need this Earth. When we cut down trees, pollute rivers, and throw away plastic, we are choking our own breath. The floods and landslides that occurred in Kerala last year alone were nature's warning. If we still don't open our eyes, there will be no clean water or clean air left for our children.
The United Nations' message for this year's Environment Day is "Beat Plastic Pollution." Let's begin by avoiding single-use plastic carry bags, bottles, and straws. Let's plant a sapling at home. Let's harvest rainwater. Let's not waste electricity. Our survival is possible only if we protect nature.
On this Environment Day, let us take a pledge — "My waste, my responsibility." Let us work together to leave clean water, air, and soil for our children.
